Araç District National Education Directorate

Araç District National Education Directorate is located on the west part of Kastamonu,which is a historical city in Turkey. Its aim is to guide and motivate teachers and education staff,to make them happy and also help them to do their jobs qualified.It collects also the disabled people and the others under an umbrella of organized and diffused education to realize the life long learning education.Araç İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü is responsible for The Organized and Diffused Education Associations to continue their education convenient to the Turkish National Education Principals. Universality and equality,systematic, individual and community needs, orientation, right to education, opportunity and equality of opportunity, continuity, democracy education, secularism, scientific, mixed education, school and family collaboration, education everywhere are some of our principles and values.

There are 4 high schools,5 Primary Schools,1 Kindergarten,1 Adult Education Center,1apprenticeship training center connected to Araç İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü. In our district there are 2662 students and in the building of our district national education directorate we have 11 staff. Although there are many disadvanteged habitants in our area, they are trying to prevent themselves from social exclusion by means of our projects. We have been participating in national projects for years, however we have no valuable experience in international projects. For that reason, we participate in this project as a partner.

Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol

The Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol (PHT) offers courses leading to a Bachelor Degree in Education and teaching qualifications for Primary School, Lower Secondary School, Special Needs Education, Apprenticeship and Vocational Colleges, Nutrition Education and ICT Pedagogy. The PHT also services all Tyrolean teachers offering courses at post-graduate level.

On the one hand, the PHT has long been involved in education for sustainability being the first Pedagogical University in Austria to be accepted as a member of the ÖKOLOG-Network (Austrian Schools Network for Ecology) with both Practice Schools also as members. Ecology plays an important role in the day-to-day school programmes and future teachers are able to work on specific projects gaining insights through teaching practice. Christine Lechner is the Tyrolean representative in the Austrian ENSI Network (Environment & Schools Initiatives). At post-graduate level, the PHT offers courses on sustainable education.

On the other hand, the PHT has broad experience in the field of CLIL with the CLIL primary teacher education programme having been recognised in the "European Profile for Language Teacher Education –A Frame of Reference". Currently, the PHT runs a CLIL module for all future teachers at Lower Secondary level as well as post-graduate courses for all school level. The PHT has also been involved in EU projects on CLIL most notably & recently as below CCLL & COMENIUS-Regio.

Centre Públic de Formació de Persones Adultes Tirant lo Blanc

The FPA Tirant lo Blanc is an Adult Education Centre which is located in l'Alcora near Valencia. In l'Alcora there is a population of about 12,000 inhabitants. Last year approximately 500 students participated in different courses in our school, and we have a staff of eight teachers. We are a public center of adult education and our main goal is to defend workers’ right to lifelong learning. We support a free, egalitarian, democratic, secular and good-quality educational model for adult people. The learners age ranges from 18-90. This centre is addressed to people who demand:

- A basic education (with the final goal of obtaining the certificate of secondary education) that will allow our students to continue their education in higher levels, such as the Technical School or the University.

- Learning the official languages in our region: Castilian (Spanish) and Valencian.

- Learning foreign languages: English, Italian, German and French.

- And overcoming illiteracy in several fields, such as in ICTs, languages and social knowledge and skills, with the main goal of increasing our students' employability.

The school is open in the morning, afternoon and evening in order to adapt to workers’ needs. Depending on the courses, the registration period is open every three or four months to allow the enrollment four times a year. Individual orientation and academic guidance is also provided taking into account the initial level of education and according to the expected objectives.
